Summer Dessert—Red Wine Strawberries

Ingredients

  • 2 pints strawberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups of dry red wine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Hull the strawberries by taking a knife and cutting a circle around the stem of the strawberry.  Slice some of the larger berries in half but leave most of the berries whole.
  2. Place strawberries in a large bowl and sprinkle with the sugar.  Next add the wine and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or up to 24 hours.
  3. Spoon into dessert bowls and serve.
